Principal's Desk

Welcome to WPMS!  My name is Renee LeDonne and i am the Principal at West Perry Middle School.  The 2022-23 school year marks my 18th year in the District, all at the middle school.  I live in the West Perry footprint and am a proud parent of two West Perry graduates.  I have spent all 27 years of my career in the middle school setting, continuing to love the energy, diversity and personality of middle school students.

We are very proud of our middle school program. We know that the move to middle school is not only an important event in your child’s life, but also in yours. To help make this transition successful, our school provides a series of activities for our incoming students. These activities help our new students get to know the school, the staff and the students..

The role of the middle school is to help children make a successful transition through adolescence. With the welfare of your child in mind, it is essential that we work together sharing the insights we have about adolescents. We truly believe that when the family and school work together and support each others' efforts, the best education can be provided for your child.

This year we have placed a special emphasis on closing the achievement gap and rebuilding the necessary skills to be productive academically, emotionally and socially.  Our schedule is designed with one period built into each week, Advisory, to support and reinforce these skills.

We look forward to getting to know your child and you better. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Renee LeDonne
